Who We Are
About The Loading Dock
For years, our Founders, a small group of event professionals came together for a social round of golf. Being event people, it could not stay a casual event for long – a committee was formed, phone calls and emails ensued and meetings on patios enticed the industry to play!
Our industry has changed and so has our tournament. The Loading Dock Classic is open to anyone that will, that does or will forever access an event via a loading dock. FORE!
How we give back
Our Initiatives
In our first two years, we raised over $15,000 in support of STARS Air Ambulance. A few years ago, the Loading Dock Scholarship initiative was launched, raising money toward elevating and building our local industry.
It’s back! Since the launch of the The Loading Dock Scholarship in 2017, we sent event professionals to LDI in Las Vegas and C2 in Montreal. For students and teachers, we supported them through relevant post secondary courses and attendance at conferences. In 2025 (so far) we sponsored 24 SAIT students to attend GMID!
This is a great opportunity for industry suppliers as well, we can assist in subsidizing intern or shadowing costs to give students opportunities to learn in practice. We are open to ideas!
Alongside our scholarships, this year we will be donating $5 per registration to The SEARCH Foundation, an industry initiative that provides financial assistance to event, meetings, and catering professionals who are faced with a life threatening illness or catastrophic occurrence.
